Staffs were displaying the portrait of Confucius inside the gold edition
of "Zhou Yi" (The Book of Changes) on the afternoon of Oct. 31. This gold
"Zhou Yi" unveiled itself in Nantong, Jiangsu Province. The book is in
the style of ancient Chinese books, printed in 16 mo, and consists of 28
gold pages. The book is based on the "Zhou Yi's Original Meaning" by Zhu
Xi, (1130-1200), a renowned poet, philosopher and master of
neo-Confucianism in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), with Taiji
patterns and portraits of Three Saints, namely Confucius, Emperor Wen of
then Zhou Dynasty (1121BC-771BC) and Fu Hsi (a legendary Chinese ruler
credited with introducing farming, fishing and animal husbandry).
