CITYLIFE / what's on Game on By Chen Nan (China Daily) Updated: 2007-08-08 11:21 A collection of more than 700 items from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Olympic Museum will start touring China on August 8, on the occasion of the one-year countdown to the opening of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Called, IOC Olympic Treasure Exhibition China Tour, the collections include Olympic medals, torches, mascots, commemorative stamps, posters, films and photographs, sports-related scientific and technological items, as well as souvenirs from previous Olympic Games. ? The exhibition is co-sponsored by IOC, Chinese Olympic Committee and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG). It sees the Olympic Museum brought to China for the first time, the largest of its kind to be held outside the IOC headquarters under IOC support. It aims to display the core value of the Olympic Spirit to the Chinese people, and help publicize the Beijing Olympics in the one-year run-up to the Games. ?
