My favorite site was the Great Wall. I took a lot of taxis and found them to be courteous, and going across town on the No 108 bus was also great. China is an exciting place and the high-school kids I spoke to were full of zest. I wish China every success for the 2008 Olympics. Taxi drivers never overcharged me and everyone was very friendly. However, everything changed at the airport. After I arrived there, I found the ATM only converted foreign currency to RMB and the bank counter was closed. Suddenly a person appeared next to me and offered help. Three more people with their hands full of US dollars and renminbi also appeared, saying they could change my money into any currency. I hope the local authorities will take necessary steps immediately to stop such criminal activity. Although the price of food is rising, it hasn't yet reached a level that we can't afford. What's more, the government will lend a hand to those who are suffering a lot. Rising food prices are a process that sometimes appears to get in the way of economic development. At the same time, we should trust the government. There is no harm in it, as many overseas Chinese contribute to China's development, advancement and gradual enrichment. However, those who do study overseas should look on China as their place of birth and motherland where racial and cultural discriminations are less likely to harm their thoughts.
